FAQ [Frequently Asked Questions]
- What is Write Letters?
First and foremost, Write Letters is a Tumblog for finding a penpal on Tumblr. Our purpose is to post ads that are submitted by other Tumblr users who want to find a penpal in this Tumblrverse. We also want to post about your letter writing experiences meaning pictures of you with your stationery.
I absolutely love stationery :)
- How do I submit an ad?
You can submit an ad by using the Tumblr Submit feature; however, please submit it to our Directory of Ads Tumblog. Please remember to refer to this before you submit an ad.
- How do I contact someone that I want to become penpals with?
In each ad, we ask the submitter to post their Tumblr link. Just click on their Tumblr link to get onto their Tumblog. Then simply ask them to become penpals through their Tumblr Ask Box!
- What if I have a question to ask Write Letters?
Absolutely simple! Just drop a question in our ask box!
- I just want to look through the ads, how I can do that?
You can access the directory to see all of the submissions that have been posted so far! We also have a Tumblog connected to Write Letters for specifically posting ads: Directory of Penpal Ads.
- What’s with all the pictures of stationery?
Silly! What else would you write letters with? There’s always the option of using plain-old lined paper, but that’s boring! I used to do it, but then I would decorate it with little drawings on the margins. Stationery is fun to collect as well as to share with others especially when you write to them using that stationery!
- How long does it take for a submission to be posted?
I usually place them in the queue. Our queue is growing and growing everyday, so it might take a while before you see your submission.
In our Directory of Penpal Ads, ads are posted every 30 minutes.
- Can I submit more than one submission?
If your ad has been posted for a month and no one has contacted you and if you have not contacted anyone either. This is only if you still do not have a penpal. If you haven’t contacted anyone and haven’t looked at the Directory of Penpal Ads, then I suggest that you do.
